TESS DELANEY, seventeen, is a troubled teen that has just experienced the untimely death of her father. Her mother, ALISHA DELANEY, is distraught herself, but moves quickly into acceptance and facing the future. While at her father's funeral, Tess encounters a vision of her dead father giving her a warning for her own life., a sign of strange things to come. After the funeral, Tess and her mother begin to move their lives forward. While entering their home, Tess is visited by CAL, a classmate of Tess. He is confident with himself, not part of Tess' world. He apologizes to Tess for the student body not showing up at her father's funeral.
